How was your summer? Is it even fall yet?
I know summer is almost over and kids are already back in school, but it is HOT AS BLAZES outside! Missouri has not gotten the memo that it is September and it is time to start cooling off. I think this is our hottest week so far.
I did have a nice little “summer break” with about 6 weeks of not traveling to a show. (And also not updating the website…. or doing much on socials….) It was nice that I had some more time to work in my garden (with lots of hydration breaks). It did feel a bit weird when I went to Lawrence for the show last week, like making up from a too-long mid-day nap. I am not sure I actually enjoyed staying away that long. Next year I am thinking about doing some 2-day shows and venturing a bit further outside of my usual radius. That will help to fill in my lazy August and maybe add more to the rest of the year…
Keep an eye on my schedule to see where you can see me next summer!
Currently, I am working on a couple of projects and have put the web series on hold again. One day my writer (me) and I (artist me) will get along and figure out how we want to do it. OR maybe I will convince someone else to join in the insanity. Who knows. The other project is a collab and is definitely made for print. I’ll give you more details later when I can. It’s bananas.
August was a blur and September is almost half over already, but we still have a few more shows to do before winter break. I hope to see you at one! I am taking commissions, and love the challenge of trying out new characters. Every suggestion sparks at least 3 other new ideas for things I want to draw.
If you can’t make it to a show, but want to show your support, you can always buy me a coffee 🙂 Please and thank you!!!
